Before I started going on book tours, I’d never visited Denver. It quickly became one of my favorite destinations. That’s partly because of the local Tattered Cover bookstore chain, which has always given me a warm welcome. It’s also because Denver’s blessed with a wealth of natural beauty as well as great architecture, and it’s got a dynamic dining scene that has a lot to offer the gluten-free. I’m sorry to report that my favorite pizza place closed in the pandemic, but the historic Satire Lounge (pictured above) is still going strong. Even better, Denver has a wealth of celiac-friendly restaurants and bakeries that make visiting a treat.
