I hope you weren’t hit hard by the latest blizzard. In New York City, we got 18 inches of snow. The only saving grace was that the temperatures weren’t in the deep freeze like they were after the last big storm, so the great melt-off is underway. That’s great because… we’re supposed to get more snow this week.
I’m not going to lie: This winter is making me want to run away from home. Even though I’m not going anywhere this month, I’m itching to hit the road. Which is probably why the last great trip I took is on my mind.
Italy has already inspired a few posts, including “Everywhere I Ate in Venice” and “The Best Pizza I Had in Rome.” But I haven’t told you about my favorite meal yet. The truth is, there was plenty of competition. The meals I had in Rome were generally fantastic: delicious, hearty, and surprisingly affordable. I went back and forth between pizza and pasta each night, and in spite of all that carbo-loading, didn’t gain a pound. (Probably because I was averaging 20,000+ steps a day that week.)
