What's the Best Las Vegas Resort for the Gluten-Free?
Share

Before my latest trip to Las Vegas, I spent a lot of time researching the best restaurants to visit, trying to balance my desire to revisit a couple of spots that I already loved with newer eateries. But once I actually landed in Sin City, my feelings shifted. I had planned meals up and down the famous neon-bright Strip without thinking about how long it takes to get from Point A to Point B there. Basically, I’d planned like a New Yorker, because we believe that no combination of hoofing it is too far for a good meal. But the Vegas reality is different.

Even when the crowds are minimal, as they were for the first two days of my stay, there’s still a crazy amount of footwork involved in getting around. I’d planned to used the monorail to get up and down the Strip quickly — it runs behind the casinos on the East Side of the Strip, starting at the MGM Grand at the far southern end and going all the way up to the Sahara at the north end. But the Las Vegas Strip is over four miles long, and there are only a handful of monorail stops. And while the system is clean and user-friendly (the unlimited-use day pass was excellent value), it deposits you at the back of each casino… meaning that you have to walk through the entire cavernous place to get to the Strip.

The logistics didn’t make me change my plans, but they had me considering how I’d restructure my next visit to Las Vegas. While my step-counter gave me props for averaging more than 20,000 steps a day during my trip (😳😵‍💫), my feet felt like they might give out. All of the major resorts have serious amenities, but not all of them have restaurants that are interested in catering to the gluten-free. So which ones do? Here’s what I found!
