Last week I wrote about some of the restaurants I visited (and loved) while I was in Barcelona. Welcome to Part 2 of that report! If you’re thinking, ‘Wow, it seems like Barcelona has a lot to offer gluten-free travelers,’ you would be absolutely right. There are so many good options in this beautiful city. If you visit, remember to check out the Associació Celíacs de Catalunya, which has an informative website that includes a map of accredited restaurants. (They also have a terrific app you can download for Apple iOS and Android.) Here are some more restaurants I recommend:
En Ville: If you’re looking to enjoy a traditional Catalan meal at a restaurant that’s 100% gluten-free, this is your spot. Located in the El Raval neighborhood inside a landmark 19th-century building designed by Valencian architect Rafael Guastavino, this is a warm, welcoming, elegant gem. There’s a lot of cod and ham on the menu, since those are Catalan staples, and I can personally vouch for the cod fritters and ham croquettes. The traditional dessert of Catalan cream is also incredible.
